Rubber Band-Aids for Custom Vehicle Decals

Do you need your own custom vehicle decals? Then you have to visit Tampa Florida, home of the legendary Pensacola Beach Sculpture Center and Fort Lauderdale Beachwalk Mall.

Back in the day, car shows were only available in coastal cities with waterfronts. Car shows were like auctions where every vehicle was subject to bidding wars. Because of competition for spectators, many cities, including San Diego, California, had to renovate their waterfronts and facilities in order to host their favorite car shows. For example, in New York City, they had the Electric Curbside Trolley Displays. The show featured custom advertising vehicles, business trucks, and huge flags. This car show was sponsored by Hylan, an insurance company. One thing you can say about the Electric Curbside Trolley Display, though, is that it has gone through a little rebranding over the years.

Another attraction in Tampa's Big Apple was the "Flipside Float Trial". The program featured a contest for its best float, and each competitor received $100 as their prize. This "flipside" contest was like the old "three-card monte" game. Competitors were required to take turns in taking an alternating sequence of cards, in which they had to flip a card over to reveal the "flipside".

To make the Rubber Band version of this classic game even more fun, I've included a few sample cards. Take a look at how each turn works:

Each card depicts one of the following events: "Merry-Go-Round", "Globe And Anchor", "The Flipper", and "Luna And Bacchus". It's possible to guess the event on the deck that has already been revealed, but it's much more fun to do so by guessing at the event after it has been revealed.

As soon as the sequence is revealed, if the first player has been successful in guessing the "flipside" event, they are the winner of the game. The second player can then try again and end up being the loser. Then, if the sequence has not yet been revealed, the "flipside" card appears. If the player guesses correctly, then the sequence will be revealed for the next card, or until someone guesses correctly the second time. Finally, if no one guesses correctly, the sequence will be revealed for the last card of the sequence.

I've included some sample cards to get you started and to show you how to play the game with your party guests. If the Rubber Band versions of these cards don't seem exciting enough, then here's a final card in the sequence:

The "Rubber Band Rubber Band Ball" card may be the most exciting card in the entire sequence, because it is the only one that has a unique appearance and function. In the middle of the sequence, the "Rubber Band Rubber Band Ball" card will bounce along a track along with several custom vehicle decals of varying size and colors. These custom vehicle decals will be randomly selected by a deck of cards containing the name of the artist.

If all the individual custom vehicle decals are larger than a dime each, then they won't collide. If they're too small, though, then the larger ones will collide with them. Because the rubber band ball bounces along the track, it will show everyone exactly where it is until someone gets close enough to see.

For those of you who aren't quite ready to have their party guests guess the future or the outcome of the rubber band version of the Rubber Band Ball Sequence, there's still one more card in the sequence: the "Loopball". This card looks like a large rope tied to two ladders. When it lands, the players cannot take more than one card.

Here's the joke: whenever the "Loopball" lands, you're all going to have to guess which card it lands on! This card has four different colors, but each one can only be reached by a single card.
